How to Stay Organized When You’re a Mom and Lawyer
Tip #1 – Turn Off All Notifications At A Certain Time
Time is your most precious commodity as a mompreneur. You must set in effect a particular time that you will no longer look at any notification, answer any phone call, or read any more emails.
This is not only to give you more time for yourself but also to help you prepare yourself for the next day.
The best way to have more time in a. day to do things is to prepare for the day ahead of you NOW.
As the old saying goes, “the early bird catches the worm.”
Tip #2 – Identify What Is Wasting Your Time
We all have them, and it is our life; “time-wasters.” Identify what and who it is that is using up your time in life and REMOVE it/them from your life.
We all have 24 hours in a day, and what successful and organized people do is NOT waste time. It is, as we mentioned already, our most precious commodity.
Tip #3 – Write Down What You Need To Do and Then Do It (Never Put Off Tomorrow What You Can Do Today)
Never put off tomorrow what you can do today. If you know that something needs to be done, just do it right now. What separates the successful and organized form those who are not successful is the idea that the typical person procrastinates.
Tomorrow I will do this.
Tomorrow I will do that.
Tomorrow. Tomorrow. Tomorrow.
If something NEEDS to be done, and you have the time to do it, just go ahead and do what needs to be done.
Tip #4 – Use Personal Assistance or Virtual Assistance For Certain Task
To save time in your busy schedule, you will want to consider hiring an assistant to handle a certain task that is a bit mundane.
Having someone take care of the smaller things in life for you, such as booking flights, appointments, and scheduling up meetings for you, will save you so much time.
Tip #5 – Learn To Say “No” and “Not Now”
There is SO MUCH power in saying “NO” or “NOT RIGHT NOW.” For many people saying “no” or “not right now” may seem a bit rude. However, there is nothing further from the truth.
The best way to control your time and to have more time in a day is to say “NO” to the things that will not bring you any value.
As we mentioned, there are a lot of “time-wasters” out in the world. The best way to save your time and to use it effectively is to say “NO” to things that will bring you NO REAL VALUE.
There is power in saying “NO.” So say it.
Tip #6 – Give Yourself Time To Play
Lastly, life is not about all the work. As the saying goes, “All work and no play makes jack a dull boy.”
If you are working every hour of the waking day, that ribs you of time with your kids and family. And this can have very negative effects as they grow up.
Set some time aside, own the day to spend with your family. Even if it is nothing more than an hour, give time to those you care about.
